Water Leaking at the Housing If water is leaking at the casing where you open and close to change filters, you can do the following:
1) You can try to tighten it a little more. The best is to lay it down flat on the counter or floor and put a cloth underneath it to prevent slipping, then use the filter wrench to tighten it more.
Ensure that the thin plastic O-ring is sitting correctly on the housing.
2) If after tightening and it is still leaking, the problem may be due to the new filter plastic pad at end of the filter (this is the black plastic pad at top and bottom of the filter). When the filter is new, this plastic pad is difficult to compress. Take the pad out from both end of the filter and then soak it in boiling water to soften it. Then put back everything and see if the leaking will stop.
